School programmes

A visit to the Museum of Bags and Purses is suitable for all ages and is an inspiring and unique museum experience.

Admission prices
The Museum of Bags and Purses gives a discount to holders of a student card.
Adults: €8.50
65+ and students: €7
Schoolchildren (13 till 18): €5
Children (up to age 12): free of charge

House rules for teachers and pupils
Teachers and other supervisors are responsible and accountable for the behaviour of the pupils and groups at all times.

Supervision of the group
For primary schools, there must be at least one supervisor present per group of 5 pupils. For secondary schools, there must be at least one person supervising each group of 10 pupils. The museum reserves the right to refuse entry to groups that do not comply with these rules.

Tour
A tour of the permanent collection, temporary exhibition and the wonderful period rooms
Duration: 1 hour
Maximum number of participants: 12
Cost: €50, excluding admission

Lecture
An introduction to the permanent collection, the history of the building, and the founding of the museum
Duration: 30 minutes
Maximum number of participants: 50
Cost: €75, excluding admission

Workshops Design your own bag
Want to design your own bag? Design your own bag in one of our workshops. All workshops take place under expert supervision in the atelier of the museum, and can be combined with a tour or a lecture.

Linen bag workshop
What can you do with a linen bag? That’s something we’ll find out together in this workshop. You will use various techniques and materials in these workshops. The end result will be a work of art!
Duration: 90 minutes
Maximum number of participants: 12
Cost: €20 per person, excluding admission

Cardboard bag workshop
The designer’s duo 'Bouwjaar '63' has designed a cardboard bag and this bag will form the basis of this workshop. First you'll construct the cardboard bag and decorate it using various materials.
Duration: 90 minutes
Maximum number of participants: 12
Cost:  €42 per person, excluding admission

Felting a bag workshop
Felting is creating a piece of material without knitting, crocheting, weaving or any other technique. By treating the woollen fibres with warm water and soap, a new material is created, which you can then use to make a great looking bag.
Duration: 2.5 hours
Maximum number of participants: 12
Cost:  €40 per person, excluding admission
